SALE on etsy.

Oh, glorious fall with your beautiful colors and fabulous weather! There's nothing much better than enjoying apple cheddar scones and pumpkin spice coffee on a lazy Sunday morning in the fall. But we could throw an Etsy sale in there and it WOULD be better, wouldn't it?!

We have several items on sale in our Etsy shop and will be adding more soon. Hop on over and see what there is to see...then head outside and enjoy the sunshine!

laptop sleeves.

Martha is a Mac. Sarah is a PC. But does it really matter when you have a super cute laptop sleeve to carry it in? Of course not. :)

(These sleeves are lightly padded and individually quilted. Most have tie closures and will fit standard Macbooks and most PCs. We also happily make custom fit sleeves to hug your laptop perfectly.)

sutton spring collective takes on new york city.

New York is a place where we fit. We've discovered that we're more Brooklyn than Manhattan but the creativity just oozes everywhere and we think we could really find a niche there (although we would really miss the country farmhouse...and the quarter acre vegetable garden...and the lilac bushes...and the peace and quiet...).

In New York there is a vibe that says "I have my own style and I dress for myself so I don't care what you think" that is somehow so refreshing for us. The south tends to be a bit opposite, don't you think? We traveled there a few weeks ago for Martha's birthday (and to do some major fabric shopping) and here are a few photos that capture what we love about New York.

The art. This is one of our favorite pieces at MOMA.

The fabric. More variety and selection than we could ever imagine. It was a dream.

We attended a book discussion with this kind gentleman who knows a thing or two about style! He was just as pleasant in person as you would imagine him to be.

Pretty much sums us up. Minus the garbage cans. :)

If you missed us at the NWA Boutique Show this weekend, here's a little taste of what you would have seen. We had so much fun seeing all sorts of old friends and meeting all sorts of new friends! We're ready to slow down a bit, work out new ideas (because we're never really low on those, of course), and perhaps actually make something for ourselves! Thanks to all of you who stopped by to visit. We have such wonderful supporters!

The Northwest Arkansas Boutique Show will be held this Saturday, April 17 from 10 AM to 5 PM at the Northwest Arkansas Convention Center in Springdale (next to Holiday Inn off I-540). Sutton Spring Collective will be one of many vendors present to share and sell beautiful handmade things. So join us to celebrate local handmade creativity! We'd love to see you there!

shalom. salaam. paz. paix. peace.

So, we speak Arabic. Did we mention that?

Salaam. Peace. Used as a greeting but holding so.much.meaning. Especially in this little slice of time that we happen to live in. It's one of our favorite words. In any language.

But it's true that if you don't use a language, you lose it and living in the southern United States doesn't provide that many opportunities to use it so sadly, it's slowly slipping away. Anyway...the main point of this post is all those fabulous pillows!

Notice the doilies, of course, and we're loving down pillow inserts these days. (Our faves are from Ikea.) We'll have plenty of these for you to peruse at the NWA Boutique Show! Can't wait to see you there!

who doesn't love a good doily.

Another repurpose project but this time with a vintage doily to go along with the vintage tablecloth-turned-fabulous-idea. Truth be told, we just love doilies! We especially loved this project because Martha just whipped it up in a few hours and voila! a handbag is born. Unfortunately this is a one-of-a-kind piece currently living in Martha's closet but we're definitely going to keep it in mind the next time we come across such wonderful colors at the flea market.
